The Friends of the Vonore Public Library is a non-profit volunteer organization that was established in 2001. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership. A designated board member functions as a liason to the Board of Directors of the Vonore Public Library. 

The mission of the Friends of the Vonore Public Library is to support and promote the use, services, and facilities of the Vonore Public Library. 

Activities of the Friends of the Vonore Public Library include: 

• Provide volunteers to assist with operations of the Vonore Public Library, including book ordering, shelving materials, and service to patrons.

• Fund the purchase of new books, furniture, and equipment.

• Provide publicity in support of library services and programs. 

• Support literacy programs, including the Summer Reading Program.
